Fairytale Friday

Rapunzel’s Tips for a Rainy Weekend Indoors!

Happy Fairytale Friday!

If you have been keeping an eye on the news/weather updates recently, or even looked outside your Castle window, you might be anxiously prepping for Hurricane Harvey that will be coming soon. The storm is leaving your family trapped indoors for the weekend, and unsure of how to keep yourself not only safe, but how to stay occupied!

If you think about it, our dear Rapunzel was also trapped in a tower…we may only have a weekend, but she had a whole 18 YEARS! How did Rapunzel stay entertained?

Here are Rapunzel’s Top 5 Tips to make the best out of a Rainy situation in your Kingdom!

Baking

There are two bonuses to this activity: learning something new, and getting to eat the delicious creation afterwards (well, we are hoping it turns out delicious!) Win/Win! Get your kids in the kitchen and make this awesome recipe we found below by clicking the photo! It has very basic ingredients you can already find in your pantry without having to leave the home and brave the storm to run to the nearest grocery store. (AND are no-bake, just in case the electricity goes out!)

Fort Fun

A tradition all kids participate in while growing up is making forts out of furniture, blankets, and cushions and turn them into dungeons, castles, and of course…towers! With this rainy weekend, help your little ones design their own unique fort in the family room. They’ll stay busy all day long with fun, quiet activities to play inside!

Board Games

Spend some quality family time together with a classic board game. Rapunzel’s favorite games are Chess and Puzzles! However,  whether you are gathering up real estate in Monopoly or resisting all the tasty treats in Candy Land, playing board games are the perfect way to spend quality, bonding time together! But remember, a Prince & Princess is always a gracious Winner and never a sore loser!

Hide & Seek

Oh, how Rapunzel LOVES this game, especially with Pascal, who is an exceptionally good hider as a chameleon. Since the little ones are restricted indoors on this rainy weekend, they can use the WHOLE HOUSE for this game, with the King & Queen’s permission, of course. Hopefully they won’t be too difficult to find–just search for the cutest little giggles to their secret hiding spot. You can even make a dramatic scene and pretend they were impossible to find.

Read a book OR Create your OWN Story

This one is possibly one of Rapunzel’s favorites. She loves to Read Books, she even read a few of Belle’s Top Picks in the latest Fairytale Friday Blog Post! Cozy up under a warm blanket with the kids, and read them the stories of our characters, get them excited about potentially having one of them at their next birthday party! Or, create your own story! There is nothing better than creating a story together, drawing pictures of the characters, and bringing that story to life.

Most importantly, stay safe to everyone in the Kingdom!

“We promote Intelligence, Curiosity, Hope, Kindness, Faith, Adventure, and Dreams in ALL of our Princes & Princesses! We are more than just a picture, we are a real life example of pure magic.”

with sparkles & magic,

Princess Sarah
